Frequently Asked Questions

What size icing sheets do you print on?

We currently stock a range of sizes, including 1.25”, 1.5” & 2.1” cupcake rounds, 7.5” cake rounds, A3 & A4 sheets.

I need my print urgently. What can I do?

You are welcome to pick up your image from us at 1113 Latrobe Street, Ballarat or alternatively, choose the express post option upon checkout.

What do you print the images on?

Our images are printed on high quality icing sheets, which produce a vibrant, detailed print with little to no taste.

What ingredients are used in icing sheets?

Water, cornstarch, corn syrup, corn syrup solids cellulose, sorbitol, glycerine, sugar, vegetable oil, Arabic gum, Polysorbate 80, vanilla, titanium dioxide, citric acid.

Our icing sheets are gluten free, dairy free, and contain no animal or nut products. They do not contain any known allergens.

What do the frosting sheets taste like?

They are slightly sweet, but have a very mild flavour that will not affect your cake’s flavour.

How long do printed images last for?

Provided that they are stored in a ziploc bag and away from direct sunlight, we expect your print will last for six months or more. If stored incorrectly, the print will begin to fade and the colours may be compromised. It’s best to use your prints within a few weeks of them being printed to ensure the colours remain sharp and vibrant.

How do I attach an image to my cake?

Edible images can be applied to most cake toppings, including buttercream, ganache, cream, ice cream, royal icing and fondant. If you’re attaching your image to a soft icing such as buttercream or ganache, we recommend applying the image to a thin fondant backing with a tiny amount of water. This will ensure that your image is not affected by the moisture, oils or colours in your icing.

It’s best to apply the edible image on the day the cake is needed, as images do begin to deteriorate over time due to environmental factors.

What do I do if I can’t remove the icing sheet from the backing paper?

Icing sheets usually only stick if the sheet is damp, which can occur due to humidity. You can try a few different methods to remove the backing:

-          Roll the sheet over the side of a benchtop to encourage the icing sheet to peel off

-          Place the icing sheet in front of a fan or air conditioner for a few minutes

-          Place the icing sheet in a very cold, dry freezer for a couple of minutes

What file types do you accept?

.JPG and .PNG files are compatible with our software.

What inks do you use?

We use high-quality edible inks made from food colouring. They are specially formulated to produce a similar result to regular printer ink.

Will the colours print exactly the same as they appear on my computer?

We do our best to achieve a result as close as possible to the original; however due to colour differences between computer screens we cannot guarantee an exact colour match.

When will you send my edible image?

We post images within 24 hours of payment being cleared, Monday to Friday. If you require your image urgently, please select the express post option upon checkout.
